For published, pirated authors who may be a class member in the Anthropic Copyright Settlement, February 9th, 2026, is a new, court-extended deadline.
The revised deadlines are:
- February 9, 2026 – Opt out of the Settlement or file an objection
- March 9, 2026 – Request re-inclusion (if you previously opted out)
- March 30, 2026 – Submit a claim for payment
Moreover, if you already submitted a claim or an opt-out request, you don’t need to resubmit it. If you are relying on a publisher to submit a claim on your work (and later share the payout with you), or if you are relying on a defunct publisher to NOT submit a claim on your work you should check out the settlement website.

A final approval hearing was set for April 23rd, 2026, but this deadline is likely to be revised.
