The person who loves is quite simply *a loving person.* Such a person does not need a reason to love. The person he or she loves, therefore, doesn't need to deserve it. The "love" in the command to love God and our neighbors refers to behavior, not feelings. <br /><br />As we were taught when we attended a Marriage Encounter weekend many years ago, "Love is a decision."
